Popsilos and Ashop begin production

Eight artists will begin the production of five large-scale murals on farm silos starting now through to May 30th for the Popsilos project, a touristic circuit combining arts and agrifood in the Prescott and Russell countryside in celebration of Canada’s 150th. The public is invited to visit the sites during production while being respectful of the artists at work and everyone’s safety. The experienced mural artists were selected by a committee comprised of representatives from the Prescott-Russell Arts Council, the farm owners having submitted their silo for the project, the community, Popsilos and the international urban art agency Ashop, hired as artistic co-producer of the project.

The impressive lineup of artists includes:

Popsilos partners with the St-Albert Cheese Co-operative

One of the region’s pillars, the St-Albert Cheese Co-operative has joined the Popsilos adventure as a “Champion of local” partner. We are very excited to have them onboard! The St-Albert Cheese Co-operative will be a stop on the Popsilos circuit where visitors can eat and drink and it will feature an outdoor mural relating it to the outdoor gallery that is the Popsilos circuit.

Activar Teams Up with A’shop for the Realization of the Popsilos Project

A’shop will act as a coproducer for the mural on farm silos project celebrating Canada’s 150th in Prescott-Russell

The Popsilos project, a circuit that combines art and agrifood tourism in the Prescott-Russell countryside to celebrate Canada’s 150th, will be coproduced with the international urban art agency, A’Shop, based in Montreal. The circuit leads to the discovery of four giant murals on farm silos and invites visitors to stop at small producers farms on their way.

And the silos are ... !!!

Today was an exciting day: we unveiled the silos that will make up the Popsilos circuit! A committee that included representatives from the tourism industry, agricultural community, the United Counties of Prescott-Russell and Popsilos co-producers Activar and A’shop, selected the winning silos. Here goes:
