Call for cultural mentors – Submission deadline: March 31, 2017, 23:59 EDT

Meet Popsilos : a circuit that combines art and agrifood tourism in the Prescott-Russell countryside to celebrate Canada’s 150th.
Popsilos is looking for visual artists from the Prescott-Russell region who will act as cultural mentors in the conceptualization phase of the giant murals to be painted on four farm silos for Canada’s 150th celebration.

Themes include youth, diversity, reconciliation of First Nations and the environment. Cultural mentors’ role is to share their knowledge of the region’s culture and identity as well as contribute to the overall composition of the mural. Scheduled work sessions (2 to 6 hours) will be planned during the week of May 8th to May 12th, 2017, during which cultural mentors will have the opportunity to exchange with mural artists.

A daily stipend will be offered to all selected mentors.
