Popsilos opens today June 30!

The Popsilos circuit is officially open today, June 30!

We've just opened the Popsilos circuit, today June 30, for the busy summer season! Five monumental murals painted on farm silos in the Prescott and Russell region are now ready to be discovered. The silos offer a celebratory canvas for urban and art and agriculture. The merger of urban and rural creates a new Canadian experience, in a circuit, unexpected and and sensorial, a first of its kind in Canada. Visitors of the circuit are invited to veer off the route and discover local products to complement their experience. Popsilos is perfect for day-trippers seeking serendipitous experiences. The circuit is set to be opened from June 30th until October 31st.

The silos celebrate Canada's 150th anniversary and the circuit itself is possible with the participation of the Government of Canada. Popsilos is the invention of Jennifer Larocque and Mathieu Mault, local entrepreneurs and the artwork was co-produced by international urban art agency Ashop.

"This project is unique. It is not every day that our artists have the opportunity to create on such a surreal surface. We are very proud to be a part of the major Popsilos project." - Kris Wilk, President, Ashop

"Prescott-Russell Tourism is thrilled by the new Popsilos route. It offers visitors a nonsuch experience in Canada, and brings our region to distinguish itself as a unique destination. We are proud to promote the rural charm of our beautiful region and welcome visitors of the Popsilos route with hope they'll discover all the gems of our wonderful contryside." - Mariève Desmarais, Interimm Executive Director, Prescott-Russell Tourism

"Day-tripping in Prescott and Russell (30 minutes from Ottawa and 1 hour from Montreal) means taking in Canada's only circuit of massive mural paintings on farm silos while stopping at Beau's to sample award-winning beers and St-Albert's to indulge in famous cheese curds. I challenge you to find a cooler day-trip this summer!" - Jennifer Larocque, creator of the Popsilos circuit
